For my application to your university I have chosen to submit to you a range of various pieces of work from different classes and stages throughout my two year national diploma in Graphic Design.
During my time on the course I have used many techniques to produce work derived from the skills I have gained in hand drawing, painting, and on Adobe programmes.
For my Anti Fur Project I was asked to submit a poster design that related to the cruelty and reality behind fur farming, I decided to produce something striking and moving that would catch a passer by's attention leaving an imprint and simple message with them about the impending fate bestowed upon fur farm grown animals. For this I used a baby fox and the strong cringeworthy phrase "DeathRow" within this piece of Photoshop produced work.
The aim of my Ambient Advertisement project was to insert a well known brand into an everyday environment to market it to passers by, enticing them ito possibly purchasing a product of that brand. I chose to implement Coca Cola into my work by altering everyday streetsigns and giving them various twists related to the brand. The main focal idea was to place these around a town centre with some of the signs directionally pointing towards places to buy Coca Cola. To produce my final pieces I firstly created my own street signs in Adobe Illustrator and then moved these into Photoshop where I implemented them into pictures of the town centre.
I want to further develop the skills I have already enjoyably acquired to a new higher level and feel that studying at degree level with the wide rang of subjects available on your course is the desireable option for me.
My own particular interests include developing my ideas through studio work, using my own design concepts and various mediums to achieve this.
I hope that I am fortunate enough to gain an interview.
Thankyou
